The objectives of LVCEA and its work are of interest to the socio-economic sector, particularly in the search for microorganisms or biomolecules that may have applications in agronomy (biocontrol of diseases affecting cultivated plants, improvement of plant production, etc.), in the medical, veterinary, and pharmaceutical fields (search for antibacterial and antifungal antibiotics notable for their activity), and in the food sector (investigation of toxin-producing fungi and mycotoxins in various food chains, analysis of contamination risks by mycotoxins, and definition of measures to control them).
